Prestigious jury for New Media Award 2006 announced - deadline for entries extended to January 10, 2006

Darmstadt, January 3, 2006. - For the tenth-anniversary presentation of the New Media Award, the organizers - InteractiveMedia, T-Online and media partner Horizont - have again been able to enlist the services of leading personalities from the worlds of business, science and the media to officiate on the jury. Before that, however, the ongoing challenge for creative minds is to develop first-rate advertising campaigns and submit them to www.newmediaaward.de. For this anniversary event, the organizers are extending the closing date for entries by 10 days - one day for each year of the New Media Award - to January 10, 2006.

The prestigious jury of experts will then meet on February 15 to assess the entries which have been received. In 2006 the members of the jury will include Klaus Ahrens, Managing Partner, Pilot 1/0 Communication Hamburg; Kai Bald, Director Group Branding & Advertising, Deutsche Bank; Susanne Fittkau, Managing Partner, Fittkau & Maass; Gregor Gründgens, Director Marketing Communications, Coca-Cola; Prof. Richard Jung, Professor of Communications Design and Corporate Identity at Lower Rhine Technical University; Elke Klinkhammer, Creative Director, Jung von Matt/next; Jens Konerding, CEO TBWA (Germany) Holding; Lothar Korn, Head of Global Advertising, Mercedes-Benz Cars; Prof. Bernd Kracke, Rector of Visual Communication Faculty, Offenbach School of Design; Hubertus Meyer-Burckhardt, Managing Director, ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG; Bernd M. Michael, Former Chairman, Grey Global Group Europe, Middle East & Africa; Dr. Thomas Schnieders, Director, Neue Medien Otto; Alexander Schönfeld, Executive Creative Director, Proximity Group Germany; and Volker Schütz, Editor-in-Chief of Horizont.

For the first time, the jury will be deciding not only the winners in the "online", "crossmedia" and "young creation" categories but also the winner of the new Special Efficiency Prize. Assisting the jury with the selection of the most efficient online campaign will be a group of advisers made up of members of the General Association of German Communication Agencies (Gesamtverband Kommunikationsagenturen GWA e.V.) with many years' experience of "efficiency and effectiveness" consulting.

Bernd M. Michael, ex-Chairman of Grey and moderator of the jury session which will decide the fate of the Efficiency Prize, explains: "As the best known accolade in the industry, the New Media Award has iconic significance for the online advertising market. The time has now come to reward not only creative and innovative flair but also efficiency in the field of online advertising. The jury is certainly looking forward to this challenge."

Arndt Groth, CEO of InteractiveMedia CCSP GmbH, adds: "In the past ten years, online advertising has developed at a phenomenal rate. By recognizing the achievements of campaign designers, the New Media Award has given powerful impetus to advertising in the new media. We're looking forward to seeing which concepts set the pace this time."

The organizers expect to welcome more than 600 guests from the media and advertising industries to the anniversary celebration and the awards ceremony in Frankfurt's Palais im Zoo on March 30, 2006.

The New Media Award is presented to outstandingly innovative and creative online advertising campaigns. The distinguished award has been promoting advertising and encouraging up-and-coming designers in the new media since 1996.
