New Media Award 2005:
Under the patronage of Frankfurt Mayor Petra Roth

T-Online/Darmstadt, 2 December 2004 - Petra Roth, Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, has again taken on patronage of the New Media Award. The coveted prize for creative online advertising will be awarded for the ninth time in February 2005. With this commitment, Petra Roth underscores the importance of the digital industry for business-base Frankfurt. Headquartered in and around Frankfurt are more than 7,000 companies in the Media, Information and Telecommunication industries.

"I am delighted that the organizers of the New Media Award have again chosen Frankfurt for the awards ceremony," Frau Roth said. "This decision shows that over the past few years our city has become increasingly established as a media base."

"Frankfurt is an ideal venue for the award," added Burkhard Graßmann, Chief Media Officer at T-Online. "The city stands for internationality and success, and is thus a symbol of our industry."

Every year, the New Media Award honors especially effective and innovative online advertising campaigns. Creative minds in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are invited to submit their best creations in four categories by 31 December 2004. Judging entries in the rubrics "online", "crossmedia", "permission" and the new-generation prize "young creation" is a prestigious independent jury. The winner in the "people" category will be determined by Internet users casting their votes via the websites of T-Online (www.t-online.de), InteractiveMedia (www.interactivemedia.de) and Horizont (www.horizont.net) starting in January.

The new-generation award "young creation" is bestowed in 2005 for the third time by the initiators T-Online, InteractiveMedia and the media partner Horizont. To win the award, which carries a prize of € 5,000, entrants must independently create an online advertising campaign for the Musicload brand.

Winners of the competition will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held in Frankfurt's Palais im Zoo on 24 February 2005. As in past years, the organizers look forward to welcoming more than 600 guests from the worlds of media and advertising.
