New Media Award 2005: new-style competition involving Musicload will increase appeal of "young creation" Award still further
Darmstadt, November 10, 2004 - This year again, creative minds in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are being presented with a challenge which could ultimately lead to their careers "taking off" in a big way: they are invited to take part in "young creation", the New Media Award for the new generation. By introducing a specific assignment this year, the organizers T-Online, InteractiveMedia and media partner Horizont are looking forward to a clearer comparison of candidates and, in particular, plenty of topical entries. The task is to develop an online advertising campaign for the Musicload brand (www.musicload.de).
Musicload, T-Online's music portal is currently one of the foremost providers of legal music downloads in Germany. Participants are invited to market the attractive offering and to highlight the advantages of Musicload. This will give younger talents in the media industry an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience by tackling a real-life assignment. Virtually no limits will be set to the creativity of these young people. They can submit digital advertisements in the form of banners, streaming, layer ads, microsites or other interactive means.
As Arndt Groth, CEO of InteractiveMedia, explains: "The decisive factor is that the entries are bold, original and intelligent." Susanne Peter, Senior Manager Marketing Musicload, adds: "The jury must be impressed not only by the concept and the graphics but also by the clarity of the advertising message and the innovative elements."
Sending in an entry could be well worthwhile - the winner will be taking home a prize of €5000. The "young creation" Award is open to students in the creative/media sectors, trainees in the media industry, and junior personnel already working with media firms. The requirements for participants are that they must not have been working professionally for more than two years and that they have developed their entries on an independent basis.
The closing date for entries is December 31, 2004.
